Our mission is to protect the welfare of the animals we come in contact with, and to promote the humane treatment and well being of these animals by:

Providing shelter and medical care for stray or abandoned animals in the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex.

Responding with personal commitment, humane sensitivity, compassion, and technical skill needs of these animals.

Actively promoting suitable adoptions of the animals.

Encouraging the spay and neutering of dogs and cats to ensure the numbers of unwanted animals be kept to a minimum.

Helping to prevent the cruelty to animals by promoting animal welfare legislation and education.

Sunny & Family Need Your Help

A very pregnant Sunny was found abandoned along a country road on 4/9/09.  She came to Tassie’s Hope the next morning.  Just barely out of puppyhood herself, Sunny was soon to deliver what our vet estimated was her second litter of puppies.  X-rays not only revealed that Sunny would deliver a large litter, but also that she had been shot at least twice, possibly three times, in her short life.  There is a BB and 2 pieces of shell casing in Sunny’s torso.  Sunny also tested heartworm-positive.

Not only did Sunny physically survive being shot, she emotionally survived those ordeals.  Despite her rough start in life, Sunny has the sweetest disposition imaginable and never meets a stranger.  Her foster mom calls her “pure love with a wagging tail” - a true testament to a dog’s amazingly resilient spirit.

Foster care and medical care for a canine family can be very expensive - much more than what adoption fees can possibly offset.  Once Sunny’s puppies are completely weaned, they will receive complete veterinary care before they are adopted out.  Once Sunny’s body has a chance to rest and recuperate from motherhood, she will begin life-saving heartworm treatment.  After her treatment is successfully completed, Sunny will be spayed and will be ready to find a loving, forever home.

To meet Sunny and her babies is to fall in love with them.  Won’t you help us give this special canine family the excellent care they deserve?  To make an online donation to “The Sunny Fund”, click here.

Be a Life-Saver – Become A Foster Parent

Tassie’s Hope does not operate a shelter. All of our rescued animals are lovingly cared-for in a network of private foster homes, until well-suited, permanent homes can be found for each one. If you are interested in becoming a foster parent, or would just like more information click here.
